The purpose of this article is to help you decide whether or not it is worth your time to read my other articles.
To that end, I would like to make the following things clear:
The articles on this site are not intended to be instructional. That is what the Tutorials are for. (When they are eventually posted, that is.) If you desire instruction in writing, or in other skills relevant to creating comics, there are plenty of resources available to you:

I have no intention on writing any "How to Write" articles for two reasons: One, after having read very many books and articles on writing, I have come to the conclusion that they are almost worthless. I feel that writing is something that can, for the most part, only be self-taught. The best way to learn is to read and write as much as possible. And two, even if I believed I could teach you how to write, I am not qualified to instruct anyone.
My articles are merely expressions of my thoughts and opinions on writing, other aspects of comic creation, and whatever else I may write about. It is my hope that they will be helpful to you, be they by encouraging you to create in the first place, or whatever.
I am not a professional writer, nor am I an authority on the subject or on comics. I am merely sharing thoughts and opinions on subjects I have experience with, in hopes that doing so will be helpful to others. |
